Women groups trained on flower arrangements by KVK, Peruvannamuzhi

     Flowers are integral components of spiritual, religious and personal moments. In the recent past, its role and contribution to individual and national economic growth are plenty. In order to develop confidence among women as flower arrangements had immense potential to be an entrepreneurship activity, KVK, Peruvannamuzhi has organized a two days training for women groups. This training has been benefited to eighteen women comprises six groups from Kavilumpara, Thottilpalam, Koombara, Mukkam, Kattipara and Thiruvambadi areas. The training has been conducted by Ms. Deepthi, Subject Matter Specialist (Home Science) of this Kendra in association with Centre for Overall Development (COD), Kozhikode.

  During the training the participants have arranged bouquets, tiered modern and Eastern types (like Japanese) of flower arrangements and event flower decorations, etc. using locally available leaves, flowers and materials in addition to cut flowers. This practical entrepreneurship training increased the confidence level of the participants to undertake flower arrangements in functions and events said by Dr. P. Ratha  Krishnan, Programme Coordinator, KVK. During the training Dr. P.S. Manoj and Dr. B. Pradeep, Subject Matter specialists were also present and described the types of flowers and materials useful for such decorations.
